Four Current Favorite Podcasts

In 2019, I found my new favorite form of media to indulge in - podcasts. A whole new world of information and entertainment opened up to me. Except for the amazing podcast Serial, which I devoured in a matter of days, I had never managed to find any podcasts that grabbed my attention, so I only listened to them once in a blue moon. However, last year I started to see podcasts pop up more and more on social media and news sites, and I was inspired to try out some new ones and see how I’d like them.

Fast forward several months, and I am a podcast fanatic. I can’t go to the gym without a downloaded podcast episode and my trusty Airpods, and I seize the chance for any long, solitary drive where I can devote my attention to the podcast of my choice. Since they’ve become such a big part of my daily routine, I want to share you with some of my favorite ones. While I like to try out a broad range of different podcasts, these are the ones I return to time and time again to get my fix. I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I have!

1. The Daily by the New York Times

This podcast is my new favorite way to stay informed about current events and American politics. With the 2020 election approaching, I’ve been trying to stay more in tune with politics, and this is an easy and entertaining way to do so. The New York Times is one of my all time favorite publications, and their journalism is simply unmatched. Listen to the Daily if you want to stay up to date with news and politics in a way that won’t make you fall asleep.

GOOD EPISODE TO START WITH: The most current one, of course! Jump right in with what’s happening right now in the world and our country.

2. Okay Sis

This podcast often features successful women in a variety of different fields, and listeners have the privilege of learning their routines, likes and dislikes, and the backstories behind their success. Some episodes are just Scout and Mady flying solo, and I’m not gonna lie, these might be my favorites. Humorous, uplifting, and chock full of knowledge, Okay Sis is an addictive podcast that I’m not letting go of any time soon.
